To my mind there is also no way to determine whether whatever sensation that is isn't brought on by whatever else is causing the episodes or simply by the stress of it. During my early years it was difficult to figure out why and what. We are very fortunate that our vet was very patient and worked with us. Yes we spend numerous vet visits and of course it was very costly. Basically trial n error. It took many many years to elevate the major allergy issues I had. mom had to Golden Woofs! Plus, I definitely think stress makes everything (everything!) worse. Not dog related, but my husband is struggling with an adverse reaction to a drug eluded stent (heart surgery).
