Adoption Monday: darbie, Labrador Retriever Mix, Southington, CT

Darbie is a special little girl is looking for her happily ever after.

She is a wonderful young pup full of love and joy. She narrowly escaped certain death at a southern high kill shelter. She was pulled by rescue and placed in a foster home where she learned what being a puppy is supposed to be like and how to live in a real house.

Darbie is a big goofy puppy who will require family members committed to giving her direction, training, exercise, and love!

No more no less than any other large breed puppy but commitment will be key. She will need an active family to help run off lab puppy energy, sorry but no couch potatoes for this baby girl. Because she is a big puppy, still learning to be the perfect young lady, we do not recommend a home with young children, over 12 is just right.

Darbie loves her people dearly and her greatest passion is to engage them in play time.

Of course she loves a variety of great toys, but she tends to be fond of the kind she can shake around and wrestle with (sounds like a lab!) Darbie loves a good swim in any body of water, she isn't particular so long as it's wet, cool, and fun.

Darbie is very well behaved on leash and loves going for walks or runs, we see a great running, walking and hiking partner in this sweet heart.

While Darbie does get along well with other dogs, she tends to prefer the company of boys not prissy girls (we say this tongue in cheek of course).

Darbie is already house, crate, and kennel trained and has good house manners. She is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on preventatives...she is fully vetted and has a clean bill of health. Darbie is a fun, affectionate, sweet, friendly, outgoing youngster who is looking for the same kind of family. We don't want anymore sad or lonely poems for this baby girl because of the 'Absence' of permanent people in her life. We want someone to write a new joyful poem on the happy hilarious adventures of Darbie. Could you perchance be the author to a story or poem with a happy ending?

Best Friends For Life is a privately run, 501 c3 non profit organization, privately funded NO KILL dog rescue. They operate on a strictly volunteer basis out of foster homes.
