Veterinary Highlights: The "Tooth Fairy Fund"

Poor dental health plagues our dogs. 80% of dogs develop periodontal disease by the age of three. That's quite a terrible statistic. And the problem doesn't stop in the mouth--it can negatively affect overall health and organ function.

Proper veterinary dental care is not cheap.

For our guys, the cost of dental work comes to anywhere between $700 to $1200. Yes, it can be done cheaper but at the cost of cutting many important corners.

Dr. Brook Niemiec, owner of the Southern California Veterinary Dental Specialties and Oral Surgery in San Diego, California set up the Tooth Fairy Fund to combat the disconnect between the need for dental care and the money to pay for it.
