Complete The Integrative Dog Nutrition Course: Accomplished

Those of you who read my blog know that I started studying dog nutrition because of, and for Jasmine. She's been always my main motivation for most the things I did. When she passed on, suddenly it seemed meaningless to continue.

But then I realized that's not what she'd want. I had a legacy to uphold.

It is through her legacy she gets to live on and her story and all I've learned can keep helping other dogs. This legacy is very important to me.

So I manned up and finished the course.

This was part II, advanced canine nutrition.

According to my certificate,  I have mastered the following:
  • Genetic Effects of Nutrition
  • Whole Food Vitamin Complexes
  • Feeding the Omnivorous Canine
  • Processed Diets and Reading Labels
  • Raw and Home Cooked Diets
  • Whole Food Supplements
  • Picking a Supplement Company
  • Assessing the Nutritional Health Status of a Dog
  • Use nutritional data to create more in depth programs for all major systems in the body
  • Vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and herbs that support the organs and body systems
  • Using fur mineral testing as a base for determining where nutrition focus needs to be ad-dressed
  • Understanding and appreciation of the impact specific nutrition can have for every organ or system discussed
  • The impact the ANS on a dogs behavior and how nutritional deficiencies impact behavior
  • Nutrition for the Heart
  • Nutrition for the Liver & Gall Bladder
  • Nutrition for the Digestive System: Stomach, Pancreas, Intestine, Colon
  • Nutrition for the Adrenal Glands and Thyroid
  • Nutrition for the Musculoskeletal System
  • Nutrition for the Kidneys & Urinary Bladder
  • Nutrition for the Skin and Ears
  • Nutrition for the Immune System
  • Nutrition for the Nervous System and Pain
  • Nutrition missing in the obese dog
  • Effects of Nutrition on Cancer
  • Using a Questionnaire to help determine the organs needing nutritional support

I have learned a lot and I was grateful that I was able to use some of that knowledge to improve Jasmine's life as well.

I have learned the what.

Now I am on the quest to learn the why and how. Which means not only to keep on learning about nutrition but about physiology and biochemistry as well.

It is all very fascinating to me, and more importantly, it has to make sense.

So no resting on resting on laurels. Studying nutrition is a life-long quest, as there is always something else to learn, something knew that's been learned.

The most exciting part is putting the knowledge to practice and witness the results.
