Owner-to-owner things I've learned about dogs and dog health issues. In loving memory of the most special Rottweiler girl ever, Jasmine. I love you forever, baby.
Is Cookie in training for leash walking?
Yes, though this is not a training harness, just a shoulder harness for the moment. She has a high pray drive, I'll be writing an answer to the question tomorrow :-)
Awesome. Can't wait to see it. How is she feeling?
It seems that she might need the surgery; will find out Friday.Otherwise she's full of P and V; little angel growing horns LOL Everybody else is tired, including JD and she just wants to keep going. God help us all. Today she started barking at JD trying to get him to play when he wants to stop and get some quiet time.
ohhhhhh surgery? SNAP! Jana you have the worst luck!Is it because she pulls and collars can be super tough on the trachea and thyroid?
Yes, the harness is because when she sees something she goes after it and pulls like crazy, so yes, to protect the neck, trachea and thyroid. Great answer!Today the foot is looking quite good, seems that it's finally healing on its own. I'll write a post about the details ... turned out she had a chunk of a porcupine quill in her foot. Eventually a chunk came out but it was not clear whether the tip might still be in there somewhere, which would require surgical exploration and removal. The way it's looking today I'm hoping the tip is elsewhere.
She's such a cutie!
Yes, she is. Just and angel ... with horns, as our granny used to say :-)
Last night Dr. Peter Dobias had a webinar on this very subject. The dangers of collars on ALL dogs. He had an article on it in his blog, and then the webinar later. He probably has that webinar saved somewhere if anyone wants to hear more about it.
Hi Vlad, yes, I think I saw it some place, just didn't get around to reading/watching it yet.
Hi, cute picture, I have all kinds of harnesses also. We never go out without ourst! Terri, Sophia, & Niko
Right on, guys. Harnesses rule.
